Talavera Junior School provides a happy, stimulating and inclusive learning environment for its children and the community it serves. It is a non-denominational County Junior School catering for girls and boys from 7 to 11 years of age.
We are proud of our caring, friendly school where all staff and governors work hard to provide the best possible educational opportunities for our children.
Talavera Junior School was built in 1964 as a replacement for the Marlborough County Junior School. The building comprised of eight classrooms, offices, assembly hall and kitchen. An additional four classroom block was built in 1967. August 2005 saw the completion of the latest improvements which have seen a new kitchen installed and the building of a new ICT suite and library in addition to the complete replacement of the exterior walls, doors and windows.
The school stands on the site of the old Talavera Barracks and this section of Aldershot Camp was known as Wellington Lines. Aldershot is known as ‘The Home of the British Army’.
