Mission Statement

Our goal is to work in partnership with pupils, parents and staff to encourage all children to achieve their full potential by developing a thirst for learning and providing the highest level of education in a nurturing environment.

Constitution

The Governing Body for Talavera Junior School comprises:

• 2 Local Authority Governors
• 3 Community Governors
• 4 Parent Governors
• 2 Staff Governors
• Headteacher

We also have

• 1 LA Experienced Governor on secondment to us
• 2 Associate Members (Parents)
• 1 LA Clerk

Meetings

Our Full Governing Body meets once a term on a Wednesday evening starting at 6.30pm. Meetings last no longer than 2 hours.

The resources committee have delegated responsibility for both financial and human resources issues as these aspects of the role of the governing body are closely linked during this period of the school’s development.

Committees

During the year we will also be working to establish a Curriculum and Standards Committee which will allow the Full Governing Body to take a more strategic overview of the School Improvement and help support it’s growth and development.
