Year 6 Trip to Chessington

On Tuesday 30th October, as part of our Seven Seas topic, year 6 visited Chessington World of Adventures. On arrival to the park, we entered the aquarium where we were able to observe a wide range of marine creatures. During Autumn 2, we will be using David Attenborough’s Blue Planet series as inspiration for our writing and therefore used the opportunity of visiting the aquarium to explore and observe some of the vast array of interesting creatures that live within our oceans.

After visiting the aquarium, we then took part in a science workshop which was delivered by the Chessington staff. During the 45 minute session, we classified a variety of animals and sea-life and even had the opportunity to hold a giant snail!

However, we could not visit Chessington World of Adventures without a go on the rides and therefore, because of our fantastic behaviour, the adults let us have an explore of the park and 90 minutes to have fun! We were all incredibly brave (including the teachers) and had a thrilling time on the Vampire Rollercoaster, Pirate Ship, Gruffalo Water Ride and Haunted House!

Everybody on the trip had a superb day and we made fantastic memories as a year group. We also look forward to showing you some of our writing that has been inspired by the trip later within the term!
