At Talavera we value children’s contributions and ideas. Opportunity to take on responsibility, and contribute to the community and school improvement by sharing opinions and suggestions are very much encouraged; children in all year groups are invited to take on roles with differing responsibility within the school.
These roles can vary from being a: Litter Pickers, which promotes the importance of keeping our school grounds tidy and raising awareness about waste rubbish; Play Leaders take an active part on the playground to help support each other and help organise playground activities; and student council are the voice of the school. They provide feedback, are the voice of their class, make key decisions, listen to concerns and activate change.
All roles are won through an application and interview system that ensures appointments are made fairly.
Student council meet frequently and have a clear agenda that they address. They feedback to their class.
